Tutorial
Things you need

  1. Shirt * I used a  Fruit of the Loom V-neck.( size of your choice, they come in all colors)
  2. Scissors
  3. Ruler
  4. Chalk
  5. Studs * Hobby Lobby

I drew a straight  line using my ruler across the front of the shirt right below the point of the V.

with my chalk.
I drew 11 lines on each side of my shirt.

I cut those lines with my scissors.
I cut the two middle pieces out completely.
and I started to stud my other pieces together.
Here is the pattern I used.
you can leave it like this or.......
you can tie it up on one side.

Now you have your own lattice shirt.
 No sewing required.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Chicken Tacos.

If you follow me on Instagram you know already that I post quite a few pictures of food.
I have been asked, by several  people, to start posting some of my recipes.

I love quick, easy and yummy.
Here is my version of

Chicken Tacos.

Ingredients:

First of all before you reach for the pre- made taco seasoning,
why not try your hand at making your own.
It is super easy and way cheaper in the long run: not to mention  better for you.

Homemade Taco Seasoning:
1tbs Chilli seasoning
1/4 tbs of Garlic powder
1/4 tbs of Onion powder
1/4 tbs Red pepper flakes or red pepper powder
1/4 Dried oregano
1 tbs Ground cumin
1/2 tbs Red curry
1 tbs Sea salt
1tbs Ground black pepper

  1. 3 Boneless, skinless chicken breast
  2. 2 onions-  chopped
  3. 1 clove of garlic- chopped
  4. 1/4 cup of peanut oil or vegetable oil.
  5. 2 Tbs olive oil
  6. White corn tortillas
  7.  Toppings of your choice Fresh lettuce, tomato, sour cream, lime, fresh cilantro, cheese
  8. 2 tbs of homemade taco seasoning.

 First.
 The super easy
 Homemade Taco Seasoning.

Homemade Taco Seasoning:
Mix all of these ingredients in a bowl.
1tbs Chilli seasoning
1/4 tbs of Garlic powder
1/4 tbs of Onion powder
1/4 tbs Red pepper flakes or red pepper powder
1/4 Dried oregano
1 tbs Ground cumin
1/2 tbs Red curry
1 tbs Sea salt
1tbs Ground black pepper

I used a piece of paper to funnel it into one of my old spice jars,
or you could keep it in a small Tupperware container.

Cut your Chicken breast into thin strips.
Sprinkle 1 tbs of taco seasoning all over the strips.
 Set aside.

Place 1 tbs of olive oil in the medium hot skillet and add the onions then the garlic,
stir quickly so the garlic will not burn.

Cook about 7 minutes or until translucent, add a little salt and pepper to taste.

Remove onions and place them into a bowl.

add 1 tbs of olive oil back to the skillet
and add in your chicken on  medium high heat.
add the 1 more tbs of taco seasoning and about a 1/4 of a cup of water,
saute until they are no longer pink.

now add your onion and garlic back in.

cover and let the flavors blend together while you make your
Homemade Taco Shells.

I never buy store bought taco shells anymore since  I started making my own.
These are just far better and you only make as many as you need.

In a medium sauce pan add 1/4 of peanut oil.

place oil on medium- high to start with just to get the oil hot.
Now place your tortilla into the hot oil carefully.
Turn down your oil to medium.
and cook your tortillas about 2 minutes: maybe less
you want them a golden brown.
* I use tongs to turn my tortillas.

Once cooked, place each tortilla  in between two paper towels
while you are making the rest of them.
 I cook about 6 or 7 at a time.

 dice up your toppers

 Eat them up.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Gold Mercury Glass: DIY

I know all of you have seen this on Pinterest.
I love the way old mercury glass looks and I have a few silver pieces,
but I really wanted a few gold pieces to mix with the silver.
This is a super easy project you could do with your girlfriends or with your children.
I absolutely love how they turned out.

Tutorial.
Things you need

  1. Spray bottle of water
  2. Gold or sliver spray paint
  3. Assorted glass jars
  4. Paper towels
  5. An old box or news paper

 Clean your jars really well.

Spritz your jars inside and out with water.

Spray the inside of the jar first  with the paint,
then set upside down and spray the outside of the jar.
 let dry.
With your paper towel rub the jar inside and out
 taking off the bubbles.

 and that is it!

Put flowers, candles or whatever you want in them
This was just a fun, fast and  beautiful project.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
